Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 January 2026. Last reviewed: March 2026.

This policy explains how PeakBio (operated at fbgol.com) collects, uses, and protects information when you use this website. Please read it carefully. By using PeakBio you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

PeakBio is a free educational website about chronobiology and circadian rhythms, operated at fbgol.com. For privacy enquiries, contact us at ozietra.1@gmail.com or through our contact form.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

If you submit the contact form on this site, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. This is transmitted via FormSubmit.co and delivered to our email inbox. We use it solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share it with third parties.

2.2 Information stored in your browser

PeakBio's tools (the body clock dashboard, quiz result, and schedule planner) store preference data — your wake time, bedtime, and chronotype — in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for fbgol.com in your browser settings.

2.3 Usage data collected automatically

When you visit PeakBio, certain technical data is collected automatically by the services described in Section 4 below. This includes your approximate geographic location (country/region level), device type and operating system, browser type and version, pages visited and time spent, and referring URL. This data is aggregated and anonymised and is used solely to understand how visitors use the site.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. PeakBio uses the following types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies: PeakBio itself does not set functional cookies. Our third-party services may set technically necessary cookies for session management.

Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and track sessions. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.

Advertising cookies: Google AdSense uses cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie (IDE), to serve personalised advertisements based on your browsing history and interests across websites. Google's advertising partners may also set cookies on this site. These cookies enable Google to serve ads relevant to your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features. For more information about managing cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.

4. Third-party services

4.1 Google AdSense

PeakBio displays advertisements served by Google AdSense (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to display ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to fbgol.com and other sites on the internet.

Google's collection and use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. To opt out of personalised advertising by Google, visit google.com/settings/ads. You may also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

4.2 Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, session duration, geographic region, and device type. IP addresses are anonymised before processing. Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under the terms of their Data Processing Amendment. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4.3 Google Fonts

PeakBio loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests a font, Google may log the request including your IP address and the requesting domain. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4.4 Groq API

The City Sync feature on this site uses the Groq API (Groq, Inc.) to retrieve city profile data. The API key used is configured by the site operator and is not exposed to users. City name queries entered by users are sent to Groq's API servers and are subject to Groq's Privacy Policy. We do not store city queries on our servers.

4.5 FormSubmit.co

Contact form submissions are processed by FormSubmit.co. When you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are transmitted via FormSubmit's infrastructure. Their privacy policy governs the handling of that data.

5. How we use your information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to contact form enquiries
  • To understand how visitors use the site and improve content (via aggregated analytics)
  • To display relevant advertisements through Google AdSense
  • To maintain the security and proper operation of the website

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.

6. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing personal data are:

  • Legitimate interests — operating and improving the website, analytics
  • Consent — advertising cookies (Google AdSense); you may withdraw consent at any time through your browser cookie settings or Google's ad settings
  • Contract performance — responding to contact enquiries

7. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of its sale. PeakBio does not sell personal information. The personal information we collect is limited to contact form data and analytics data as described above. To exercise your rights, contact us at ozietra.1@gmail.com.

8. Data retention

Contact form messages are retained in email for as long as necessary to respond and then deleted. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Browser localStorage data is retained indefinitely on your own device until you choose to clear it.

9. Data security

PeakBio is a static website hosted on secure infrastructure with HTTPS enforced across all pages. Core biological calculations run entirely in your browser and no health-related data is transmitted over the network by PeakBio itself. While we implement reasonable security measures, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

10. Children's privacy

PeakBio is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (or under 13 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age). If you believe a child has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ozietra.1@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

12. Third-party links

PeakBio contains links to external websites including scientific publications, Google services, and the Groq console. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of PeakBio after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
